Industry recognizes digital K-8 math program as the leader in adaptive learning technology

BELLEVUE, Wash. — June 14, 2019 — DreamBox Learning®, the company that pioneered Intelligent Adaptive Learning™ technology used in schools across the U.S., Mexico and Canada, today announced that EdTech Breakthrough, a leading market intelligence organization that recognizes the top companies and solutions in the global educational technology market, has selected DreamBox Learning as the winner of its “Best Math Learning Solution” award in the inaugural EdTech Breakthrough Awards program. DreamBox was chosen from a total field of 1,500 EdTech Breakthrough Award nominees for its personalized approach to improving student math achievement.

DreamBox Learning K-8 Math™ is an adaptive, digital program that complements classroom instruction while delivering results for students, teachers, and administrators. DreamBox has a challenging, standards-aligned curriculum, available in English and Spanish, that is proven to promote student growth. The program provides scaffolded lessons and learning pathways that adapt not only based on students’ answers, but also based on how they solve problems. Independent research shows that students who use DreamBox for just one hour a week improve their math scores nearly 60 percent more than expected growth norms on benchmark and state tests. DreamBox is also the only elementary online math program with the highest rating of “Strong” from Johns Hopkins’ EvidenceforESSA.org.

“At DreamBox, our team of experienced classroom teachers, software engineers, and creative designers creates innovative digital tools and lessons that address students’ unique learning needs while empowering them to confidently understand math at a deeper level,” said Tim Hudson, Ph.D., Chief Learning Officer at DreamBox. “We are humbled and proud that the industry is honoring our proven impact on student achievement, and we’re eager to continue providing students with fun learning experiences while also providing teachers and administrators the essential data insights that they need to support all students as they grow in their learning and love of math.”

DreamBox Learning K-8 Math is the only adaptive math curriculum powered by students, built by and for educators, and independently proven by multiple third parties to positively impact student achievement. Today, over 3 million students and 130,000 educators experience the real-time impact of DreamBox’s adaptive learning technology.

“DreamBox’s development and execution on its Intelligent Adaptive Learning™ technology platform is a shining example of a ‘breakthrough’ edtech solution that we look to recognize in our annual awards program,” said James Johnson, managing director, EdTech Breakthrough. “STEM education is such a critical component in preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s opportunities, and DreamBox serves as a powerful partner – available for every classroom, school, and district – in this mission. Congratulations to the DreamBox team on their incredible success and momentum this year. We are thrilled to recognize the company with a 2019 EdTech Breakthrough Award.”

DreamBox’s EdTech Breakthrough win is the latest in a series of honors DreamBox and its CEO and President Jessie Woolley-Wilson have received this year. In May, DreamBox was named a finalist in EdTech Digest’s 2019 EdTech Awards for the “Cool Tool Award” in multiple categories including adaptive technology solution, curriculum and instruction solution, math solution and personalized learning solution. EdTech Digest also named Woolley-Wilson a finalist for the “EdTech Leadership Awards” in the founder and CEO category. The EdTech Awards recognize people in and around education for outstanding contributions in transforming education through technology to enrich the lives of learners everywhere. This spring, Woolley-Wilson was also selected as this year’s “Big Tech CEO” by GeekWire.
